Only a few months until the words “priced in” keep being used.

It will take some time until it actually affects the prices, it’s not immediate. I believe it took a few months after the last halving until it started to climb. There’s still time to accumulate.

Will take a long time as always until the price moves significantlly. But when it will move, it will move fast.

Is this one of those hopium type events where the price doesn’t appreciate as anticipated because “everyone expects it and/or “”is already in it””?

First halving price increased 8,000% over the year after.
Second halving price increased 2,800% (1/4 ish the previous halving) over the year after.
Third halving price increased 533%(1/5 ish the previous halving) the year after

So if it’s 125% (1/4 ish the previous halving) this time, over it’s old ATH, that puts it at 160k or so.

    Yay.

How do miners survive (I’m invested in a mining operation) if halving isn’t met with big price increases especially with energy costs going up and margins so thin? If the miners can’t turn profits the network eventually shuts down right?

I’m a Bitcoin Maxie, but the very fact that so many people keep taking about the price going up dramatically after the block reward halving makes me think it’s not going to happen. At least not on the timeframe people think.

I guess that makes me superstitious, but Bitcoin has only experienced 3 halvings so far. Not sure we have enough data to be so confident.

This may be a stupid question but can someone explain the economics behind the halving? I get its supply and demand, but why does it matter if the supply is just slowed down and the grand total amount of btc isnt actually decreasing?

Genuine question but won’t this discourage bitcoin miners thus slowing the network down or something like that?

Why does this halving have more effect than a protocol change which often happens on other coins to burn a certain amount of coins

So…. the inflation rate is at 1.79%
So it will be inflating at 0.89 roughly in this coming cycle in 2024?

    Correct?

OP, your countdown must assume an increasing hash rate? Is that correct? Because according to the countdown website, [https://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/](https://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/), it’s currently slated to happen in 418 days, assuming 10 minute blocks. 60,241 blocks to go, as of now. That’s 418 days, which means the 29th of April. You’re 5 days early, and I presume that you’re making an assumption that the hash rate will continue growing and therefore the blocks will average less than 10 minutes.
