I use more energy in a year than all 3000 in their lifetimes. It’s a silly comparison.
Although i agree, the argument is played out.
People are gonna believe what they want no matter what you show to change their beliefs
I mean it does. Bitcoin mining uses between 0.5% – 0.9% of all global power consumption. That’s absurdly a lot.
They only did it once.
People do realize that banks are getting into crypto. So posts like this mean there will be the normal crypto energy usage with bank resource usage on top of that.
I’m all for crypto, but unless the post is about how much energy minting and exchanging fiat uses on its own, it’s a false comparison
