They are printing Euros again instead of printing natural gas. They should change the configuration settings on their fake-wealth materialization machine. Otherwise it will be a really cold winter this year!

    UK here.

Currency going to shit, government creating economic policy that will kill pensioners and starve the poor whilst simultaneously bankrupting us (both fiscally and morally)

BTC is a hedge against this bullshit.
I’m hoarding every fucking penny to get away from this squalid little shithole

It’s the dollar rising. The dollar has gained so much power due to QT and has devalued every asset against it. This is why crypto, other currencies, property, gold and many other assets have devalued against the dollar. It’s a temporary procedure and wouldn’t worry about it too much. The Dollar is not a sustainable asset and is parabolic currently and we know how that usually ends. Think of it as the dollar is in a bull run

The euro and British pound have fallen relative to the dollar due to the rising interest rates by the Fed. The dollar is now relatively more desirable to investors (as the Fed is seen as perfectly secure). This is a natural mechanism within the markets. The pound has been tanking for other reasons recently too (for example, the recent mini budget announced by the CE). There is, of course, much more complex reasons for the vast changes within these markets too (including the cost of living crisis, war in Ukraine and the energy crisis), however this would require an essay of a comment to explain. Bitcoin is not used widely, thus the reasons for its price is largely speculative, resulting in large fluctuations (and also by large buying and selling by a small number of actors)

While BTC tumbles below nominal 20 k, BTC’s ATH – inflation adjusted, climbs toward 100 k.

In the US, we like to consider the number of rotisserie chickens that one BTC could buy. This eliminates the local currency.
