Wow, the world’s governments have moved on from taxes where us plebs have the ability to compare one year to another. This grey inflation number that can be manipulated though the basket of core goods works much better at fucking us all over while allowing them to stay in power. Often being the good guys because they will give money to social programs, that is unless you realize you’ve actually lost purchasing power in the end. So few actually realize this

Now take a look at reserve requirements in Canadian Banks…(hint it’s none)
Next take a look at the amount of fraudulent home loans and the huge exposure to this ticking time bomb the big 5 banks have….(hint it’s scarier than scary)
Bottom line even though Canada is beyond wealthy in Petro, minerals and Ag the whole ship is going down due to financial/political mismanagement on a grand scale.
Bank of Canada creates “settlement balances”, the equivalent of “reserves” by the Fed. These “settlement balances” are credited to the commercial banking sector, and the assets move to the BoC’s balance sheet.
These are balance sheet line items. Is it money? Not really. More of an asset swap.
Even the BoC admits this. I’ll do a separate post later….
The scenario may very well be worse than it’s portrayed here.
One difference with the US seems to be that the Bank of Canada buys government bonds directly from the government instead of the primary dealers. They’ve essentially dropped the pretence that the central bank isn’t directly funding the government ex-nihilo.

The Bank of Canada has a charter with precide mandates and limitations laid out, which is ignores in order to be a part of the BIS/SWIFT system. Global finance is more important than pesky rules.
