The growth in the amount of Bitcoin held in the lightning network is encouraging. It represents growing organic demand for real use cases of bitcoin as a currency.

Growth slowed down a few months after November 2021 at the last ATH in price. In Dece 2021 LN only grew about .9 btc/day.

Average growth this month is now about 12 btc/ day.

Daily production is 900 btc/ day.

    1.3% of daily production.

There are other sources of daily demand.

The relative % of all daily demand sources will double in 2024 at the halvening without any organic demand growth.

As we can see from this chart, there is also organic demand growth

    4830 BTC is nothing,
Lightning to succeed would need 500k – 1mil

This thing will explode when we can move other assets, like a Lightning USD.

do we have any wallet that is pro and fully supports watchtowers so that if I run it on my other computers I’m sure my funds can’t get stolen (except hacking the main wallet)?

Can it also log all balances changes for auditing it works right?

Interesting to see channels staying flat and more BTC coming in. Maybe current node runners are gaining confidence and adding more liquidity to meet demand?

I love this chart! Does anyone have any figures on the total value transacted over lightning? My hunch is that this has gone up much faster than the amount of bitcoin in channels. This would surely be a better metric to track lightning adoption, but I imagine it would be difficult to do accurately (given that lightning channels are peer-to-peer and not published on the blockchain!)

Does more channels mean less fees and quicker transaction times?

If i created a node to run BTCpayserver to accept payment on my website, do i have to hold liquidity?

We all know Bitcoin can be slow and expensive to use at times especially when the network is in high demand and everyone is trying to send transactions/payments.
