I signed up for FTX and blockfi a long time ago. I never made it past KYC which saved me some pain and frustration!!

Bitcoin Maxis are the ‘toxic’ ones in the crypto space though?! 🤪

It’s amazing how viscous idiots are when it comes to defending their bad choices.

Being honest before doing more research on Bitcoin i was def taking advantage of BlockFi yield acct last year. At one point in time i was getting pretty good interest off of that platform. Im thankful I wised up and realized i was playing with fire. Cold storage + btc is the ONLY way

Celsius took a lot of my shit. I’m still buying back my positions, but I think it set me back 2 years.

    It could have been worse.

I’m now a proud cold wallet owner and all of my shit is off of the hot wallets I was managing.

    Here’s to new beginnings 🥂

EDIT: also, what’s up with GBTC? Besides not disclosing their liquidity, the the trust spiraling?

Never had an account on any of those platforms except for FTX but I had never deposited any fiat or bought any Bitcoin on there.

Funnily enough, after I hadn’t logged in for a long time, I tried to log in on FTX because I wanted to delete my account as I had never really used it, and for some mysterious reason the 2FA method was set to security key instead of authenticator app which I had previously set. Got in touch with support, received confirmation that they had reset my 2FA settings, and when I tried to login one day later just to request for my account to be deleted they had just filed for bankruptcy and the site could not even load properly anymore.

Hopefully all these shit shows have set a good example for people to avoid anything that is not buying Bitcoin and moving it to private wallets.

Voyager fucked me before they went down so after 2 months of emailing them they finally credited my crypto deposit I made and I immediately got out after they did. They lost my trust. What a blessing that was.

I don’t see how GBTC is a trap to steal bitcoin. If you live in the US there’s very little option to get exposure to BTC through a 401k

All of these can be avoided by reminding yourself of one simple rule; Not you keys, not your crypto.

Why is Galaxy on this? They didn’t “steal your bitcoin.” If anything, FTX stole THEIR funds.

My monthly DCA got stuck on FTX US. I always withdraw but bad luck doing a bank deposit 2 days before the CZ tweet came out, and 7 days remaining for the deposit to “settle” before being able to withdraw.

How do we keep buying Bitcoin if we can’t trust an exchange for even a week while fiat deposits settle?
