A college buddy of mine invited me to Coinbase when the exchange first launched back in October 2012. They were giving away one whole Bitcoin just for signing up, granted the price was $10 per coin. I’m pretty sure this guy went all in with buying a ton of Bitcoin back in the day, I have not heard from him since like 2017.
I got in at 7$ and then used it on the DW instantly, have so much “dust” left in wallets i have no access to, like 0.3 0.2 btc, meant nothing back then, but is a lot now
I sincerely hope one day this forum has such threads about people left astonished how you could once buy Bitcoin for $15,000.

I remember reading about bitcoin in 2014 but it was something like $600 and I thought, absolutely no way for some strange fake internet money.
I didn’t start taking it seriously until 2017. And then it took until about 2020 to really wake up

Hearing about Bitcoin back then it almost sounded too good to be true since there wasn’t anything else like it in the world yet
I bought a couple BTC right out of high school when it was a couple hundred $ per. Spent it all on festival tickets to a music festival and didn’t look at the market again until 2021. 🥲
Also tried getting some on the dark web long before that when it was a few dollars per BTC, but it was all too complicated for my high school stoner brain to comprehend so I stuck to in-person drug deals instead of fancy deliveries through the dark web. Hindsight sucks. 😭

Damn. When I found out about Bitcoin it was around $200 at the time. I started mining it myself, was getting like 10-20 cents a month. Then gave up cuz figured it was pointless…. Wonder how much money I’d have if I kept mining….
