Bitcoin is a sentient being.
And so it is.
Governments can exploit the CAP theorem to kill bitcoin… Bitcoin sacrifices Consistency in order to maintain Availability and Partition tolerance.
Essentially every bitcoin attack exploits the lack of consistency which arises as the result of intentional network partitions.
Trying to attack the network in order to double spend is not efficient, however governments routinely partition the network to censor unfavourable news coverage… https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_kill_switch
Creating network partitions cheats miners out of their rewards when the partitions are resolved. Thus intentionally creating intermittent network partitions will eventually drive bitcoin miners in the country/region broke.
