Run a node even if it’s pruned
Ive been running a node since 2018 but i dont think i am contributing to the bitcoin community because my node gets 0 inputs/ 10 outputs. I’m just stumped when it comes to opening the port 8333. Can’t figure it out.

Why is it ?
1. Running a Bitcoin node is cool.
2. Running a Bitcoin node + a lightning node is even cooler
3. Having a lightning wallet in your phone that can connect to your node (Bluewallet) is even cooler, you achieve self custody of lightning.
4. Giving your allowance to your kids via lightning to their wallets connected to your node is awesome and keeps sats within your node. Also 0 fees.

what’s the processing power required for a node? I have a old PC probably has a 1060 or something with a I5 (mining in my location isn’t cost effective)

I ran a node until last year but it obviously had zero usage, additional nodes do not have any benefit.
