Not only is it cool, it is crucial for bitcoin.

Ive been running a node since 2018 but i dont think i am contributing to the bitcoin community because my node gets 0 inputs/ 10 outputs. I’m just stumped when it comes to opening the port 8333. Can’t figure it out.

    1. Running a Bitcoin node is cool.
    2. Running a Bitcoin node + a lightning node is even cooler
    3. Having a lightning wallet in your phone that can connect to your node (Bluewallet) is even cooler, you achieve self custody of lightning.
    4. Giving your allowance to your kids via lightning to their wallets connected to your node is awesome and keeps sats within your node. Also 0 fees.

Great advice and easy to do. Finally got mine running again after a few month break due to a move.

what’s the processing power required for a node? I have a old PC probably has a 1060 or something with a I5 (mining in my location isn’t cost effective)

Without a node one does not exist.

His arm looks like the arm of a real Bitcoin owner, just the upper part is photoshopped lol.

I ran a node until last year but it obviously had zero usage, additional nodes do not have any benefit.
