I used to own many until an accident had me forget small details of my life and locked me out of my devices and made it so I couldn’t find shit I forgot I had anything or what crypto was now I tell people
When I can to make sure someone knows or there’s something that means if you get hurt or die the people you love are looked after.
I’ve seen so many silly things like burying things etc and it’s like you wanna keep your keys safe yes! But you also wanna make sure that if something happens your able too or the people who live you can access it.
Imagine a wife who’s husband has most of their good money in BTC and then something happens to him and he is in a Coma if she doesn’t have access to that coin shit could get bad quick. If he forgets and she can’t access it and neither can be they are both ruined.
Your choice what you do with your keys and how you will Protect them and remember them and be able to prepare for any circumstance.
This is the one (of a very small amount) of cons to crypto there is nobody who can really help you get that access to that wallet back in 99% of cases or get you access to your partners wallet in case of medical emergency or worse there’s literally a chance that one small thing will lose your nest egg.
I lost mine in a motorbike accident I hope nobody loses theirs due to the same crappy thing but on the other side of things I got permanent diamond hands for a few hundred k of btc it’s all good maybe one day I’ll get access to my laptop properly find where I hid my backup folder. But it’s been 8 years so I think it’s gone.
Sold mine for ~$600 to pay rent the day after my first kid was born. Hurts to think about today, but I had to do it.
