The energy that the Bitcoin miners are using to secure our new inclusive and neutral global monetary network is also generating heat. This heat can be repurposed and used to heat buildings or produce food. The energy that the Bitcoin miners are utilizing to safe our new inclusive and neutral international monetary community is also creating warmth. This heat can be repurposed and employed to heat structures or create food stuff. Couple of.

You can repurpose the heat from litelary anything. Doesn’t mean it’s being done

I’ve seen people that use the exhaust to heat their homes in the winter but a random btc mine in the middle of nowhere isn’t repurposing any heat unless it’s maybe in an electrical plant and they set it up that way

Technically, all computers are resistive heaters and all heavy compute centers would ideally be located where the waste heat could be used.

How does the heat get from middle of nowhere to buildings and goods that need to be heated/dryed? I think something is missing here.

e: I’m not saying it would not be awsome if we could use the heat. But you probabaly need to bring the heat from the miners to the places where it is needed. How? Or do you want to bring the miners to the places where heat is needed?

Using electricity to produce heat directly (whether using a Bitcoin miner or a plain old electric heater) is a very inefficient way of heating buildings at scale.

Air source heat pumps can provide 3x or more heat for the same electricity. And yes, before you ask it really is possible to get an effective efficiency of > 100% (more like 300%), the extra heat is extracted from the surrounding air (cooling the air down like a refrigerator in reverse).

    You’re grasping at straws here

I generate this heat by doing burnouts, less headache, more efficient, and more rewarding when compared to mining

Read about an idea to use a miner as heat tracing for tanks/pipes during winters. Seemed interesting although not sure of feasibility.

Problem is that heat is highly entropy photons. You can heat building but nothing more.
